What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is an ancient holistic therapy. The practice is based on the idea that there are points in the feet and hands which correspond to organs, structures and systems in the body. This reflex relationship allows a Reflexologist to apply pressure to points on the feet and hands in order to produce a healing effect.

What is a Holistic Therapy?

Reflexology like all holistic therapies is focused on treating the whole person. This means that no matter what your reason for trying Reflexology, you will find that wellness comes from attending to your mind, body and spirit.

It’s all about – HOMEOSTASIS

Every Reflexologist aims to assist their client’s body to achieve Homeostasis – a state of perfect balance which is individual to each person. Getting the balance right is equal to achieving your best possible state of health.

How much pressure is applied to the feet?

The amount of pressure used is customised to each client. As your Reflexologist I will assess this during our first meeting.

Can I combine Reflexology with traditional medicine?

Reflexology is not a medical treatment however it is a powerful tool for relieving stress which has such a detrimental effect on health and wellbeing. It is also used as a way of alleviating the symptoms of a huge number of health issues such as IBS, Asthma, Chronic Pain, Migrane, Anxiety, Fertility and Sleep Issues.

The reassuring power of touch also extends to those with a terminal illness. Reflexology can bring ease and calm to those taking their final steps.

It’s worth remembering

Reflexology is not a way to diagnose disease or a means to cure a specific medical conditions. If you have had a diagnosis then as your Reflexologist I will try to help you see the bigger picture, disease =dis-ease. What are your stressors? What imbalance is making you toxic?

Who can have Reflexology?

Everyone! Your feet carry you through the many stages of your life and Reflexology is right for every one of them.
